Florida's only on-water Halloween Paddle festival happened October 31st, 2009. The Destin Harbor was haunted by kayakers and stand up paddlers from the Emerald Coast, Tallahassee, Atlanta, and Louisiana. The Monster Paddlers converged on Pat O'Brien's at the Emerald Grand next to the Destin Bridge, and came in all kinds of spooky, funny, and crazy costumes! The weather was sketchy at first, but at 11am when the Monster Paddle began, the weather started to break up, and the howling wind got just a tad lighter! The Monster Paddle is a Gulf Coast Paddle Club featured event, that welcomes paddlers of all skills and sizes! Expect a crazier Monster Paddle in 2010, with more stops, and unexpected turns!
